This is about as gentle as a mountain bike ride gets and is very achievable for all riders with a basic level of fitness. Rheilffordd would make a pleasant and safe route for children and families being away from the road but not on steep sided mountains. The route consists of gently sloping tarmac and gravel tracks which meander through the Corrwg and Afan valleys. The scenery is the main attraction of the ride with pleasant forest and river views all the way. Evidence of the region’s mining history is evident along this route including an impressive Viaduct just outside the small yet dramatic town of Cymer.
